Narad Remembers Mr. Mehotra - Diary - April 7, 1966

And now I must try to pick up the thread of last nights events, my discussions with Mr. Mehotra and the dream early this morning (see under Dreams).  The day has been filled with a multitude of problems which I believe I can dissolve immediately now, at least momentarily.

Anne and I were invited to dinner by Mr. and Mrs. Mehotra.  It was the usual party for them, the Consuls of Germany, England, Canada, etc.  We were the first to arrive and were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Mehotra.  I felt very wide and intense vibrations emanating from her.  All evening I felt her inner presence although we spoke very little.

We engaged in the usual superficial conversations with the distinguished guests but remained quite alone within.  There were a few Tibetan scrolls from Lhasa placed with great care on the walls of the room.  They filled the room with powerful vibrations, more than offsetting the chatter of the guests.

After dinner Mr. Mehotra finally had the opportunity to speak with me.  He began with the subject of Champaklals paintings.  He told me he had tried in many ways to arrange an exhibition at the U.N.  He showed the paintings to the first, second and third officers and they all agreed but the final decision rested with the Ambassador to the U.N. and he was unmoved by the paintings and would not give his consent.  This resistance occurs so often.

Mr. Mehotra tried, in other ways, to go right to the top, bypassing the Ambassador but was advised that the only way a showing could be arranged was through the Indian delegation to the U.N. (hence the approval of the Ambassador.).
